Day 1

Nairobi to Naromoru Gate – Trek to Met Station Camp

Depart Nairobi early in the morning and drive to Naromoru Gate on the slopes of Mount Kenya.

After registration and briefing, begin your trek through the lush rainforest zone. The trail is rich with giant trees, mosses, and wildlife sounds as you ascend gradually.

Arrive at Met Station Camp for dinner and overnight rest.

This first day helps with acclimatization while introducing you to the mountain environment and trekking conditions.

Day 2

Met Station to Mackinder’s Camp

After breakfast, continue your ascent through the Moorland Zone via the Naromoru Route. The landscape changes dramatically as forests give way to giant lobelias and rocky terrain.

Arrive at Mackinder’s Camp in the afternoon, located in a wide valley with breathtaking views of the peaks. Rest, acclimatize, and prepare for higher altitude trekking.

Day 3

Acclimatization Day at Mackinder’s Camp

Spend the day acclimatizing at Mackinder’s Camp. Short hikes around the valley help your body adjust to the altitude while improving summit readiness.

Enjoy scenic exploration of the surrounding peaks, glacial valleys, and unique alpine vegetation. Rest is essential today to prepare for the summit attempt.

Day 4

Summit Point Lenana – Descend to Shipton’s Camp

Begin your summit attempt very early in the morning (around 2:00 AM). Trek through rocky terrain and icy sections toward Point Lenana, the third-highest peak of Mount Kenya. Reach the summit in time for a breathtaking sunrise over the African plains.

After enjoying the views and photos, descend via the Sirimon Route to Shipton’s Camp for rest and overnight stay.

Transport: Hiking/Walking, approx. 10–12 hours total trekking

Day 5

Shipton’s Camp to Sirimon Gate – Return to Nairobi

After breakfast, descend through the Sirimon Route, passing through scenic alpine moorlands and forest zones. The trail offers a relaxing final hike after the summit achievement.

At Sirimon Gate, meet your vehicle and drive back to Nairobi, marking the end of your Mount Kenya climbing adventure.

Transport: Hiking/Walking + vehicle transfer to Nairobi (approx. 4–5 hrs drive)
